The instrument is constructed of 304 stainless steel. Its overall length is 165mm. The sealed end blocks at both ends have an outer diameter of 12mm and a length of 16mm; the protection tube (strain rod) has an outer diameter of 8mm and a length of 133mm; and the coil protective casing has an outer diameter of 22mm and a length of 45mm. The default extended length of the instrument cable at factory shipment is 3m. The outer casing adopts a grounded double protective sheath and a twisted shielded polyurethane cable, featuring resistance to mechanical wear and interference.
Working Principle
Based on the vibrating wire principle, a vibrating wire sensor consists of a force-bearing elastic deformation housing, a steel string, left and right fixed ends (clamps for securing both ends of the steel string), an excitation component (to impart a specific form and magnitude of vibration to the steel string for frequency monitoring), and a receiving coil (a coil refers to a wire winding arranged in a circular configuration), among other components. The frequency of the vibrating wire is related to the magnitude of string tension (the internal force between parts of an object exerted by stretched flexible objects such as steel strings or ropes). Once the geometric dimensions of the vibrating wire (i.e., the structure and dimensions of the product) are determined, the variation in the vibration frequency of the vibrating wire can characterize the strain magnitude generated by the deformation of the measured structure.
